Firmware Updates

1. Preparation (Prerequisites)

Before starting an update, ensure the following conditions are met to prevent installation errors:

• Battery Level: Your ring must have at least 80% battery to begin the upgrade.
• Active Recording: Ensure the ring is not currently recording a session.
• Proximity: Keep your ring close to your phone throughout the process.

2. Update Types

When a firmware update is available, you may see one of two prompts once you open the app:

• Optional Update: These include general stability improvements. You can choose to Update Now or select Later to install it at a more convenient time.
• Mandatory Update: These are critical for the device to function. You must tap Update Now to continue using the ring and its AI features.

3. The Update Process

Once you tap Update Now, the app will handle the rest. The process typically takes a few minutes and follows three stages:

1. Downloading: The app fetches the new software from the server.
2. Transferring: The software is sent from your phone to the ring.
3. Installing: The ring applies the new firmware and restarts.

Important: During the update, keep the Vocci App in the foreground and do not close it. Ensure your phone remains near the ring until you see the "Update Completed" screen.

4. Verifying Your Firmware Version

You can check your current firmware version at any time to ensure your ring is up to date:

1. On the Sessions page, tap the status bar displaying your ring’s name.
2. Locate the Device Version field (e.g., V0.0.16) within the Equipment Center.
